
Michael G. Posner, M.D.
Michael Posner, M.D., joined Bucks-Mont Eye Associates in 2010, after spending several years working in Philadelphia where he cared for patients from diverse backgrounds with complex eye disorders. He has been a co-managing partner since 2012.
Dr. Posner is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Maryland and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his ophthalmology training at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey where he served as chief resident. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Posner has devoted himself to providing the highest level of surgical care to patients in the Upper Bucks community. He served as the Department Head of Ophthalmology at Grand View Hospital from 2011 to 2025. Under his leadership, the scope of eye care services available to patients throughout the Bucks-Mont region expanded significantly.
Additional Information:
Dr. Posner specializes in cataract surgery and advanced technology lenses, with a focus on the correction of astigmatism and presbyopia. He is also the inventor of the Posner Toric Alignment System (Storz Instruments), which aids surgeons while implanting astigmatism-correcting lenses.
In addition to patient care, Dr. Posner is deeply committed to physician education. He is one of the founders and administrators of EyeConnect International, the largest peer-to-peer online discussion forum dedicated to helping ophthalmologists share knowledge and improve patient care worldwide.
Dr. Posner lives in Montgomery County with his wife, Jill, a pediatric emergency physician at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. They have two delightful daughters who keep them very busy. Outside of the office, you can find Dr. Posner fly-fishing in the Poconos!
