Michael Posner, M.D. joined Bucks-Mont Eye Associates in 2010, after spending several years working in Philadelphia where he cared for patients from diverse backgrounds with complex eye disorders. He has been a co-managing partner since 2012.

Dr. Posner lives in Montgomery County with his with wife Jill, who is a pediatric emergency physician at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. They have two delightful daughters that keep them very busy. He is very involved in their extra curricular activities. The Posner family enjoys hiking and traveling to many fascinating destinations.

Dr. Posner is very interested in the community, and you may have seen him at Grand View Health during one of his educational lectures on various ophthalmic topics throughout the year. He is also bilingual and is able to treat Spanish speaking patients.

Dr. Michael Posner is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Maryland and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. He completed his ophthalmology training at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey where he served as chief resident. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

He has devoted himself to providing the highest level of surgical care to our patients at Grand View Health. In 2011, he was appointed the Department Head of Ophthalmology, and under his direction, has led Grand View Health’s commitment to excellence in eye care delivery. He performs over 1,000 procedures annually. He specializes in cataract surgery and advanced technology intraocular lenses, including the implantation of toric intraocular lenses to correct astigmatism and Symfony intraocular lenses for the correction of distance, intermediate and near vision. Dr. Posner also performs minimally invasive glaucoma surgery to lower eye pressure for the treatment of glaucoma. Dr. Posner was responsible for initiating the option of dropless cataract surgery at Grand View Health.

Dr. Posner is greatly devoted to peer- to- peer education in ophthalmology. He is an administrator of EyeConnect International which is the largest independent international list serve dedicated to the exchange of information aimed to improve the practice of ophthalmology and patient care. In September 2022, Dr. Posner is looking forward to his participation with SEE International, a charitable surgical organization, in which he will be traveling to the Dominican Republic where he will be performing cataract surgery for patients in need of care.
